WOW ! It has been quite sometime since I have blogged. Things have been so crazy that I just haven't found the time. Things are going great. Emma is getting so big and just amazing us more and more everyday. She is very excited for Christmas this year which will be great. Again this year we did our annual ride on the Polar Express. This year had to be the best so far. Hearing Emma sing with all the other kids her favorite Christmas song was great. And to have her actually be able to say what it is that she wants for Christmas is the best. We also do a tradition in our house with the Elf on the Shelf. Our elf's name is Bart and this year to see Emma be able to wake up in the morning and run around the house looking for Bart is just so awesome. She is so into Christmas just like her Mommy and Daddy. Here are some pictures of the Polar Express.

Second Surgery a success now let's hope it works
Well today Emma under went her second surgery in less than 6months. Since she had her tubes put in, in May she has been having problems with her left ear. We tried everything to not have this surgery but nothing seemed to work so we scheduled another surgery. She did very well but it is very hard to see her have to go through so much in such a short period of time. I know it could be allot worse but to see your child sick and uncomfortable all the time is very hard. This surgery was no easier for Robert and I then the first one. It was a very hard morning and the minutes of waiting seemed like hours. Emma is a strong girl and all went as planned. Now we will wait and see if this tube will be successfull. I hope with the cold weather and not swimming will really help. Thank you eveyrone for all your thoughts, prayers and kind words. Love to all whom are always there by our side we couldn't do it without you!

A weekend not to be forgotten
This weekend made for a very special weekend for Emma and I. On Friday I took the day off and pulled Emma out of school for a surprise visit to Deerfield, NH to pick up Abbey. Nonna, Emma, Abbey and I headed to the Deerfield Fair and despite being soaked from all the rain it was a great day. It was so nice to see Abbey's town and to learn about all the things she does. Since she is in NH we do not get to see her alot so this was quite a special day. Friday night Abbey spent the night at my house and enjoyed a night of playing with Emma, movies and making brownies at 10 o'clock at night! Saturday Emma and I headed out for our annual apple picking day with Shara and Jacob. It was a great day and we got lots of apples. Today was a much needed day as a family so we cooked some yummy food, played and enjoyed a nice walk. All in all a TERRIFIC weekend!! Enjoy the photos.

Lost in a maze
This Sunday was a great family day. We set out to Escobar Farm in Portsmouth, RI. This is an 8 acre corn field that every year is shaped into something different. This year it was a cow. It was a pretty exciting trip and let me just tell you we hit more than 1 dead end. Emma had a blast running all through out the maze and hiding in the corn stalks from Mommy and Daddy. After we made it through we headed over to their pumpkin patch and picked some pumpkins. I thought it was especially nice that Emma had to pick a pumpkin for Pesky since he could not join us. I know some people are not animals lovers but Pesky and Emma are the very best of friends. There is not much that the two of them don't do together. So here are some pictures of the maze and our pumpkin picking.

Out of diapers and officially a big girl!
Well Emma has now been potty trained for 2 weeks and things are going great. She is officially out of diapers and wearing big girl undies all the time! A part of me is very sad to see her become such a big girl over the last 2 weeks but my baby is growing and that is something I must except. I feel like she has grown such a sense of independence over these last 2 weeks that it is so unreal. I am so proud of her and so proud our parenting skills. We have survived yet another milestone I thought would be impossible. Great Job Emma keep up the great work. Mommy and Daddy love you!

Potty Training Days
So we officially have started potty training as of Sunday. Sunday was a so so day and Monday was a complete disaster but Tuesday and today have been great. We have her in underwear all day except for nap and bed and she is staying dry. Trying to get her to pee is a joke but man oh man can this kid poop. She must get that from Daddy. Ha ha! I have this whole week off to establish a routine. I thought when we started on Sunday I was in for a really stressful week with lots of accidents but I must say this has been pretty easy. I could not be a prouder mother and have decided tomorrow we will venture out to do some fall shopping, let's hope for another great day. Emma I just want you to know how proud Mommy and Daddy are and that we love you so much.

Emma's First Baseball Game
This weekend was another to remember. Friday we camped out in the back yard and roasted marshmallows and relaxed as a family. On Saturday we spent the day at Colt State park. What a beautiful place. For those who have not been I would recommend visiting some time soon. We ended our wonderful weekend at the Paw Sox game. It was a great experience. The Paw Sox was a place I went every summer with my dad and so it was really nice to have so many wonderful memories come rushing back. Now I will be able to share and create new memories with Emma. She did great at the game, although she did not make it to the end it was still alot of fun. Here are some pictures of our weekend.

Our Summer Vacation
What a great vacation it has been so far. We started the week off in New Hampshire. We visited all the sites and places I visited as a kid, so it was really nice to share these same memories with Emma. Storyland was by far the best day of our vacation. To see the smiles on Emma's face was just breath taking. I realize more and more that she is just growing so quickly and becoming such a big girl, that these times are just precious. Thursday we spent the day at the beach with Robert's parents since it was Lorri's 50th birthday and today we are off to Patriots Place to check out the museum and eat lunch at Five Guy Burgers, a place my husband has been dying to eat at. Here are some pictures so far of our vacation.

Oh how we love the summer months. This weekend was a great weekend. On Saturday Emma and I went blueberry picking with our Mom's group. Even though it was hot and humid it was a great day! Sunday we headed for the Cape to spend time with Emma's godfather Abe. It was a beautiful day filled with lots of memories. We spent time out on the boat and then headed to a private island for some time in the sun and sand. It is so nice to have great weather and to be able to do all these wonderful things with Emma. Here are some pictures from our wonderful weekend!

One Fine Day

Today was a special day. Emma and I went for another visit to see Johanna. Because they live in the Cape it is not very often that we get to visit. I could not believe how much Johanna has changed since Emma's birthday. She is getting so big. It was beautiful day down the Cape so we spent the whole day outside playing. After visiting awhile at Katy and Mike's we headed over to Laura and Daniel's new house. There Emma was fortunate enough to see her godfather Abe. It was such a great day. Here are some photos from the day!

Emma's Surgery what a SUCCESS!!!!!!
Well today was the big day. Emma went in for tubes. She was such a brave little girl and did so well. Daddy was the brave solider today and went in with her as she went under, it was very hard on all of us but this surgery was a must. Once she was out and in recovery we were able to see. Let me just tell you waiting 20 minutes was the hardest minutes of our life. Emma was quite cranky and angry from the anesthesia but all in all came out very well. After administering the Motrin we were on our way home. When we arrived at home Emma was given a special price to help her recover. After about being home for 20 minutes you would have never known she had surgery she ate a big breakfast, was dancing all around and acting her normal self. We enjoyed the day as a family and are looking forward to another great day tomorrow. I am so glad she did so well and is recovering so quickly. Thanks everyone for all the prayers and thoughts!

Curious George
Well we finally made our way to Boston Children's Museum on Sunday. It was a very special day for all of us because we were able to share our fun with Emma's godmother Shara, Jacob and Frank. The kids at a great time and played so well together which is always the way. We did not expect to actually see Curious George we only intended on seeing the exhibit but to our surprise George was there on Sunday. The kids were so excited to see him. Emma ran right up to him and gave him a big hug. We ended our day with cake for Kirstie's 19th birthday and dinner at the in-laws. It was such a great weekend and I am so glad that Emma and Jacob got to see the Curious George exhibit!

Birthday Weekend
Emma turned 2 on Saturday. What a great day it was! We had her party at our house with all our family and friends. Again this year the weather was terrific. Emma was so happy to have everyone to celebrate with. She received lots of nice clothes and cool toys. Here are some pictures. Hard to believe she is now two. Today we had our 2 yr well visit. And Emma is doing great. She is very smart for just 2 and extremely tall. She is now 37 1/2 inches tall and 28lbs which is great.

Date for surgery
So as most of you know Emma has had several issues with her ears since day one. She has had ear infection after ear infection and pretty much been living on antibiotics. Finally her pedi decided it was time to see an ENT. We met with the ENT on Monday and it was decided that Emma needs tubes. The surgery is a very basic surgery and she should be back to her normal activities the day after surgery. The surgery is about 12 minutes, the recovery is the longer part of the process. The date for surgery as of right now is May 24th. Robert and I are very nervous but completely confident that she will do just fine. We just can't wait for her to feel better. She told us last night that her ears were still hurting and Robert and I told her it will all be better soon. With the sadest face she said promise it will be better soon. It breaks our heart to know how much pain she is in. We will keep everyone posted on how she makes out and if the date changes. For now let's just focus on her 2nd birthday in 9 days!!!

Easter Sunday

Today was a great day. We started the day off with an egg hunt in the house, then we headed outside to continue. After the egg hunt we had a nice Easter breakfast then it was time to put on our Sunday best and make our rounds to family. We visited with Mamma, Papa, Auntie Kath and Uncle Ben and to Emma's surprise the Easter bunny had stopped there and left 2 baskets full of goodies. After running around with them and enjoying the nice weather it was off to visit Nonna, Gramps, Uncle Jeff and Abbey. Again the Easter bunny had stopped there as well and left another bag of goodies for Emma. We enjoyed a great ham lunch and then enjoyed the nice weather outside. Emma just loves playing with Abbey and it is just so sweet how well they play. Abbey and I played soccer for awhile then she threw the football with Robert. I must say my goddaughter can throw a mean spiral. It was a wonderful day all in all. Here are some great pictures from today,

Preparing for the Easter Bunny
Tonight was a fun night. We had a nice family dinner with Nonna and Gramps and then colored Easter eggs. It was so cute, Emma just kept throwing them into the containers and then taking them out and putting the egg into the next color. Needless to say the eggs are quite colorful. Here are some pictures from a great time!

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny and Egg Hunt
Today was a great day. Emma and I had breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the PACC with her godmother and Jacob. It was so fun and she had such a great time. After that we headed home for some lunch and then headed back out to Watson Pond for the annual egg hunt. This was Emma's first year doing both of these things but this is something I did every year with my Dad. It is so nice to be able to do these things with Emma. Here are some pictures from today!
